The song is about the occupation of the former Bethanien Hospital on<br>Mariannenplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg on December 8, 1971, whose nurses&#8216; home the<br>squatters named &#8222;Georg-von-Rauch-Haus&#8220; &#8211; after the anarchist Georg von Rauch, who<br>was shot dead by the police on December 4, 1971.<br>The band was active in the squatter movement and directly involved in the occupation of<br>the Rauch House &#8211; the second squat in Berlin; Rio Reiser wrote the song during the<br>occupation. said one, &#8222;Bethanien is being occupied.&#8220;<br>&#8222;It&#8217;s about time,&#8220; said Mensch Meier, &#8222;it&#8217;s been empty long enough.<br>Oh, how good life would be if there were no more pollies!<br>But the officer in charge yelled, &#8222;Clear Mariannenplatz!<br>So that my club guards have enough room to club!&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the people in the occupied house shouted:<br>&#8222;You can&#8217;t get us out of here!<br>This is our house, finally throw out<br>Schmidt and Press and Mosch out of Kreuzberg.&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The senator was furious, the CDU was outraged.<br>That these guys are now taking what belongs to them anyway.<br>But to show the world how generous they were<br>They said, &#8222;We&#8217;ll clear it out later, leave it in for now!&#8220;<br>And four months later Springer&#8217;s hot paper said<br>That Georg-von-Rauch-Haus has a bomb workshop<br>And the clear evidence is ten empty bottles of wine<br>And ten empty bottles can be quick, ten mollies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the people in the Rauch house shouted:<br>&#8222;You can&#8217;t get us out of here!<br>This is our house, finally throw out<br>Schmidt and Press and Mosch out of Kreuzberg.&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Monday, Meier met his son in the subway.<br>He says: &#8222;They want to clear out the Rauch-house, I&#8217;ll have to live at home again.&#8220;<br>&#8222;It&#8217;s crazy,&#8220;
